This term we have been learning how to play some new rhythms on our bucket drums.

We learnt to play the down beat where we play on each beat, it looks like this:

Then we learnt to play the front beat where we only play on beats 1 and 3, it looks like this:

We also learnt to play the back beat where we only play on beats 2 and 4, it looks like this:

After we had practiced the beats we learnt to play along with some songs.

What do you think is the most important thing to do so that you stay in time when you are playing on the bucket drums? If most of the people are playing a different tune then play along with them.

Which song do you think would be good to play the bucket drums to and why? We could keep one working on happier.

What could you do to improve your bucket drumming in the future?

Starting at the right time as the others.

What do you think is the most important thing to do so that you stay in time when you are playing on the bucket drums? I think I should start at the right time because I have been looking at other things insted of looking at the teacher.

Which song do you think would be good to play the bucket drums to and why? the guy who doe the bucket durming and the song together i think i need to learn more of the ones that he does.

What could you do to improve your bucket drumming in the future? I think I should listen more so then i know the steps because some of the steps are very coveuseing.

To learn how to recycle old materials into new pillows. How to up cycle old materials without a sewing machine How to make a easy bed material. How to make a small teddy How to make a small t-shirt. I chose this particular topic because….(give three reasons why?) We wanted to do it because we like doing different things. One that would be good to the environment. To do do something different and a little bit harder.   What are some possible ways I could share my learning?  Choose 3 possible ways. 1) present what we made 2) poster 3) slide show What materials will I need to accomplish my task? Glue. Stuffing or pillow. Old clothes or old materials. Old pillows. A small bed with a small blanket What problems do I foresee occurring during this project and what will I do to solve them? When I’m stuck ask your buddy for help. Stay calm and ask the teacher to give you advice on what to do. Wait for a few minutes and start it again. When problems come up, who can I contact for support / assistance? (Mentor) The teacher. Our buddy. A friend. Parents. How will this project help me, my family, the community or the world? If we need pillows we don't have to go out and buy one it would be helpful if were stuck. We would know how to make a pillow out of old materials. To improve on our skills and have a talent if we don't have one.

I found out that reading was hard for me because there were some tricky words.

What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?

Me and my group made m and m cookies and they were very delicious. 
  

What challenges did I have?

My challenge was melting the marshmallows the right temperature so then is is meltied right.

We are going to work on making our cookies better and putting in a we bit more m and m's in to or cookies so then they can taste a bit better.

We are going to time how long we put our sprinkle cookies in for so they do not get burnt and so the sprinkles don't melt into them.

We drew some Easter eggs and we coloured  it in so then it can stand out really nicely.

Making sure I get the right shape and making sure it looks very good.

The Japanese Puffer Fish

The Japanese puffer fish is found on the Japanese ocean and it lives in the bottom  of the ocean.

it does some amazing things to be noticed.

The Japanese puffer fish has very shiny scales. it looks invisible to the human eye. The puffer fish has lots of spots and it has some big eyes.

Golden sand covers the ocean floor in the water surrounding Japan. The Japanese puffer fish lives by big rocks and dusty sand. the puffer fish makes some cool designs in the water. the big ocean floor is covered by the creation of the Japanese puffer fish. Japanese puffer fish uses his fins to make designs. The Japanese puffer fish likes rough currents because it has a softer ground to make really nice designs.

The Japanese puffer fish can use their sharp fins to make designs. he uses his designs  to attract the females.

Japanese puffer fish can break sand into little tiny pieces.

The puffer fish is cool because he can make designs and I really want to see one one day.

My group finished our passion project proposal it looked like we did really good and I like it because we where thinking very hard and we got it done.
